Manage Call Forwarding


Use the following steps to manage Call Forwarding in BirchConnect:

Access your account in BirchConnect:

Under Managed Services, click Voice Features:

Under Number Settings, click Call Forwarding or click Manage Now in the Call Forwarding widget in the lower portion of the page:

Select the telephone number or extension you are managing. If you are forwarding an entire hunt group, be sure to select the Hunt Group option.

Select the type of call forwarding needed.

You have 3 Call Forwarding options to choose from:
  • Always Forward my Calls
  • Forward My Calls under Certain Conditions
    • When my line is busy
    • When there is no answer
    • During certain time periods
  • Call Forwarding Not Reachable

Always Forward my Calls
  • If you want calls forwarded all the time, toggle the On/Off button to "On" for 'Always Forward My Calls', and input the phone number that should receive the forwarded call in the box provided.
  •  If you want a short ring to advise you when a call is forwarded check the 'Send a short ring to my phone when calls are forwarded' box.
  • Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page to complete the process

Forward My Calls Under Certain Conditions
  • Toggle any of the On/Off sub-features to activate them, and add the phone number(s) that will receive the forwarded call for each instance. You may turn on all three if desired.
  • For Call Forwarding when there is no answer, you have the option to select the number of rings that will be allowed before the call is forwarded.
  • For Call Forwarding during certain time periods, choose an existing schedule or create your individual schedule. 
  • If you want a short ring to advise you when a call is forwarded, check the 'Send a short ring to my phone when calls are forwarded' box.
  • Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page to complete the setup.

Call Forwarding Not Reachable
  • If you want calls forwarded in the event of an outage (i.e. - your location is without power, or you're experiencing a network outage of some sort), you can designate a number to forward your calls to inside the 'Call Forwarding Not Reachable' box.
  • Toggle the On/Off button to "On," enter a 'Forward to Phone Number" and all calls to your number will be forwarded in the event of power or network outage. 
  • Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page to complete the process.
