DescriptionCall Block allows you to reject calls from selected incoming telephone numbers by creating a Call Screening List. Callers who are on the list hear an announcement and the call is terminated.  Your Call Screening List can consist of roughly 6 to 10 unique numbers (depending on your location).  The caller will receive one of the following messages (depending on your location):

  • "Your call has been properly delivered, but the number you are calling has its Call Block service activated. Calls from your number are not being accepted by the called party."
  • “Your call cannot be completed. The number you are calling has activated Call Screening, indicating they do not wish to receive calls at this time.”
  • “We are sorry. The party you are calling is not accepting calls at this time.”

To Activate for an unknown number:

  • Dial *60  (Dial 1160 if from a rotary or dial pulse phone)
  • Press the # key (or dial 12 if from a rotary or dial pulse phone), then wait for the tone(s)
  • Dial 01, then press the # key (for touch-tone phones only)
    • The number will be considered a private entry and will be read back as private.  It does NOT mean non-published, only that it was unknown when added.
  • In some locations, you may have to dial 3 to activate the Call Block feature.  This would only have to be done on the first entry to your call screening list.

To Add a number to your list:
