Description:  Remote Access to Call Forwarding allows you to activate or deactivate the Call Forwarding feature on your phone number from a remote location with a touch tone phone.


To Activate:

  • Dial the Special Access Number, which would have been provided to you after installation
  • Dial your 7-digit phone number that has Remote Access to Call Forwarding
  • Dial your Personal Identification Number (PIN).  This PIN is a 4-digit number provided to you by Birch.  
  • Dial 72# (the Call Forwarding activation code)
  • Dial the number you want your calls forwarded to.  If you are forwarding calls to a long distance number, you must dial 1 or 0 plus the area code and telephone number.

To Deactivate:

  • Dial the Special Access Number, which would have been provided to you after installation
  • Dial your 7-digit phone number that has Remote Access to Call Forwarding
  • Dial your Personal Identification Number (PIN).  This PIN is a 4-digit number provided to you by Birch.  
  • Dial 73# (the Call Forwarding deactivation code)
  • Dial 1 to confirm

Feature Details:

  • Incoming calls cannot be answered when Call Forwarding has been activated
  • Each time a call is forwarded, the original phone will ring once as a reminder that the phone number is forwarded.
  • While incoming calls cannot be answered while Call Forwarding is active, outgoing calls can still be made from the original line.
  • If the phone number the call is being forwarded to is busy, the caller will receive a busy signal.
  • You have three chances to enter the correct telephone number and PIN that has Remote Access to Call Forwarding enabled. After three attempts, the call will be disconnected.  You will have to hang up and start over.
