Description: Speed Call allows you to dial frequently called numbers (either local or long distance) by using predetermined one or two-digit dialing.  There are two versions of this feature, although both options may not always be available depending on service and address:

  • Speed Call 8 = One-digit dialing with up to eight possible codes (numbers 2 - 9)
  • Speed Call 30 = Two-digit dialing with up to thirty possible codes (numbers 20 - 49)

To Build Your Speed Call List:

  • Pick up the telephone receiver and listen for the dial tone
  • Depending on the type of Speed Call feature you have:
    • Speed Call 8 = Dial 74# or *74  (Dial 74 if from a rotary or pulse dial phone)
    • Speed Call 30 = Dial 75# or *75  (Dial 75 if from a rotary or pulse dial phone)
  • Listen for a second dial tone
  • Depending on the type of Speed Call feature you have, dial the one or two-digit code you are choosing to assign to the frequently called telephone number:
    • One-digit dialing = Numbers 2 - 9
    • Two-digit dialing = Numbers 20 - 49
  • Dial the phone number you wish to assign to the code.  If the number is long distance, make sure to dial 1 or 0 plus the area code and the telephone number.
  • Listen for two short tones.  This is confirmation that you have successfully assigned a code to that number.
  • Repeat these steps if you do not hear the two short tones, or if you choose to add another number into your Speed Call List.

To Use Speed Call:

  • Pick up the telephone receiver and listen for the dial tone
  • Dial the one or two-digit code you assigned to the number, followed by the # button.  For a rotary or pulse dial phone, simply dial the the code you assigned to the number.
